Summer Opportunities

Penn offers a number of different opportunities for College students to get involved with over the summer to enhance their academic experience and apply their studies to real-world scenarios. Students can apply for internships, research mentorships and fellowships and more in various fields and locations that align with their interests.  

Opportunities Open to All Majors
Summer Humanities Internships (SHIP) Each year the College of Arts and Sciences and CURF fund approximately twenty-five summer research internships for University of Pennsylvania students in the humanities and social sciences. Internships provide undergraduates with the opportunity to work in a cultural, historical, or archival setting.
Penn Undergraduate Research Mentoring Program (PURM) PURM provides students completing their first or second undergraduate year the opportunity to spend a summer conducting cutting-edge research with a standing Penn faculty member.
RealArts@Penn Through internships, mentorships, and apprenticeships, RealArts@Penn provides a foundational and real-world vision of the creative fields in which students are interested in.
Center for Undergraduate Research & Fellowships (CURF) CURF offers a number of resources supporting research, post-graduate fellowships and scholarships over the summer
Penn Abroad Penn Abroad offers a wide variety of programs for students across majors and class years to pursue global opportunities during the summer term.
Netter Center for Community Partnerships The Netter Center offers a number of summer engagement opportunities for interested Penn students.
Global Research & Internship Program (GRIP) The Global Research & Internship Program (GRIP) offers outstanding undergraduate students the opportunity to intern or conduct research with a variety of organizations and companies abroad for 8 to 12 weeks over the summer.
