Graduation Information for Guests
The College of Arts and Sciences looks forward to celebrating graduates of the Class of 2026 with you! Here are some logistical and safety protocols to help everyone be prepared for a smooth and joyful day.
- No tickets are required and there is no limit on the number of guests permitted for each graduating student.
- Guests enter at the Southeast corner of Franklin Field, near the intersection of South St. and Convention Ave. (See the map below.)
- Gates open at 5:30 pm. Please allow plenty of time to proceed through security to enter the field. (Students are required to line up in their separate assembly area no later than 5:45 pm and should also leave extra time.)
- Like many stadiums, Franklin Field prohibits entry with many items, including bags, signs, outside food and drink, and more. Please check the list in advance and leave these items behind when you come to the ceremony.
- Guests are not permitted in the student assembly area (where they line up before processing onto the field) or in the student seating area on the field.
- We respectfully ask that graduates and guests stay through the entire ceremony out of respect for all graduates. (And you don’t want to miss the song at the end!)
- After the ceremony concludes, guests are asked to meet their graduates outside of Franklin Field to facilitate the crowd’s departure.
- The ceremony will be held at Franklin Field rain or shine. The stadium is not covered, so plan for the elements with sunglasses (guests face west during sunset), hats, and rainwear if needed. (Note that large umbrellas are prohibited.)
- We suggest that guests choose clothing and footwear that will allow you to climb steep stands in the stadium.
- A limited amount of seating is available for guests in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, with advance registration. Request here.
- The ceremony will be broadcast live on YouTube. On the day of the ceremony, find the link on the College homepage.
- We have partnered with Pro Pics to take professional portraits of all graduates during the ceremony. Photos will be available for purchase after the ceremony. There is no cost to have your photo taken and no obligation to purchase. If you would like to receive your photo proofs, please go to www.upennphotos.com to submit your information. If you have any questions regarding photos, please contact Pro Pics at [email protected].
