There are two semesters before the major must be declared. Exploration should be the top priority. Students should browse the websites of prospective major departments for more detailed information of requirements and prerequisites.
MAP advisors are students who have already declared their major (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and are enthusiastic and eager to share their experience and knowledge with students considering a similar major. Read more >>
Each fall, during the week prior to Advance Registration, representatives from academic departments and programs are available at the Course and Majors Fair in Houston Hall to present information about interesting classes in their field, answer questions about their major, and discuss a variety of academic options. Each semester, the College in collaboration with the College Houses and academic departments and programs holds a series of dinner discussions on majors, minors and academic programs. These dinners provide an opportunity to meet with faculty and upperclassmen in a small, relaxed setting.

Application to a major must be made by the second semester of the sophomore year prior to Advance Registration for the first semester of the junior year. Students who have not declared a major by March of their sophomore year will be barred from registering for the next semester until they have declared. Read more >>
