Communication Within the Curriculum (CWiC) has a staff of trained Speaking Advisors, undergraduate students who teach workshops and provide coaching sessions for individual and group presentations.
Critical speaking seminars are small, speaking-intensive courses. At least half the grade is based on oral presentations, and students work with the CWiC advisor assigned to the seminar.
Courses affiliated with Communication Within the Curriculum (CWiC) offer a variety of speaking assignments and are housed in a number of departments. Every affiliated course requires students to work with the CWiC advisor assigned to the course to improve their classroom presentations.
The annual Emerging Scholar Talk competition honors outstanding and compelling research by an undergraduate student. During the spring semester, the Emerging Scholar is chosen and coached by a small group of CWiC Advisors in preparation for a public lecture in April.
