Overview of the Pilot Curriculum

I. The Pilot Curriculum General Education Requirement consists of a series of four general education courses taken over the freshman and sophomore years.

II. The Academic Skills Requirement was designed to enhance skills in written communication, to promote proficiency in and familiarity with at least one foreign language, and to develop skills in quantitative analysis and reasoning.

III. Major with Significant Research Experience

IV. Free Electives. Students must review a well thought out plan for use of their electives with thier advisor first in their sophomore year and again in their junior year. The plan should be created with a view to adding depth, breadth and coherence to their general education and studies within their major.

Your Academic Plan. Working with your advisor, you will tie your electives and your major together to create a comprehensive plan for your education in your sophomore year.

Additional Options. Even though they are not required by the pilot curriculum, you cannot overestimate the value of well-developed writing and analytical skills, both in college and in the job market.
