Fels Public Policy Internships

The Fels Public Policy Internship Program facilitates placements in political campaigns,  international organizations, Congressional offices, media outlets, and non-profit groups in Washington and New York City. Housed in the Fels Institute of Government, program staff can offer advice and use their expertise and contacts to place students in the most appropriate internship. The program makes every effort to place students in paid positions, though many interesting and valuable internships are unpaid. While most internships involve some amount of clerical work, sponsors are expected to provide interns the opportunity to work on a substantive project, participate in meetings as appropriate, and meet with individuals who may guide them as they plan their future careers. Sophomores and juniors in the College interested in summer internships are welcome to apply, as are students enrolled in the political science department’s Washington Semester program.

In addition to helping students find internships, the Fels Public Policy Internship Program also operates the Penn in Washington Program in Washington from June 1 to July 29.  Program staff organize speakers, social events, and alumni networking lunches For more information on the program, visit the Fels website.
