MAP advisees are generally College freshmen and sophomores. However, any student who has yet to choose a major or would like to explore additional major options is welcome to use the system. How to become a MAP advisee: It’s as simple as visiting the website (PennKey required) and following the instructions to search the database. Contact information for all advisors is easily accessible and advisees email advisors directly, without any intermediaries. Why use MAP? Because…
Who are MAP advisors? MAP advisors are students who have already declared their major (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and gone through the MAP advisor application process. Most importantly, they are enthusiastic and eager to share their experience and knowledge with students considering a major in their department. How to become a MAP advisor: Simply visit the MAP website (Pennkey required) and fill out an application. You will be asked to obtain an endorsement from the undergraduate chair or program director in your department (in the form of a short email). Once the endorsement is received, you will be made an active MAP advisor and students will begin contacting you directly. Why be a MAP advisor?
