




The Academic Blog is a narrative online academic planning document and journal that gives students the opportunity to stop and ponder the course of their academic life. The first entry consists of the student's responses to the advising questionnaire that all freshmen are required to submit as part of their initial registration for classes. Each semester thereafter, questions are available as prompts to blog entries, but students are free to reflect upon those issues most relevant to their emerging intellectual identity and plans for the future. No one but the student can write in the blog, and only a student's advisors are able to read the entries, though the advisor may respond to the entries during an advising meeting or via email.
