




In the winter of 2006, the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences instituted changes to the curriculum. Students who enter the College in or after September 2006 follow this curriculum. Students who entered the College before September 2006 continue with their original curriculum. Both are described on the College website. | Fulfilling the Sectors | |
| Students must take two courses in each of sectors I, II, and III in the General Requirement, one course in each of sectors IV, V, and VI, and one additional course in either sector IV, V, VI, or VII. | Students must take one course in each sector of the Sector Requirement. |
| Double counting courses within the College requirement | |
| The Quantitative Data Analysis Requirement may be satisfied with a course that also satisfies a sector of the General Requirement or a major requirement. | The Quantitative Data Analysis, Formal Reasoning and Analysis, and Cross Cultural Analysis Requirements may be satisfied with a course that also satisfies the Sector Requirement or a requirement for the major. |
| Double counting major courses and College requirements | |
| Students may double count as many major courses toward the General and/or Quantitative Data Analysis Requirement as their majors allow. | Students may double count no more than one course toward both the major and the Sector Requirement. Students with a double major may double count one course toward each major. Biochemistry, Biological Basis of Behavior and Biology majors may double count as many as two major courses toward the Sector Requirement, one each in the Living World and the Physical World sectors. |
