What made you choose the College?
"I really liked the campus. I like that it's in a city but it's not as big as
New York. I like the feel of Penn."
What did you think you would major in before arriving at Penn?
"I was undecided. I was thinking maybe psychology or economics, before I took an
economics class and found out it wasn't for me, but I was basically undecided as
an incoming student."
What's your favorite thing about being a student at Penn?
"There's a lot out there to do. It is really easy to find something that you
would like to get involved in. I like that Penn's big but it doesn't feel too
big."
What was your favorite class at Penn and why?
"My favorite class was Abnormal Psychology (PSYC 162) taught by Shatte. It was
because the topic was interesting but the professor made it a really good
class."
How have you pursued your studies outside the classroom?
"I'm currently doing research on obesity. I help by taking blood pressure, heart
rate and scoring some surveys. It's kind of interesting. It's a clinical study,
which is different from most studies. Most psychology studies are
research-based, but because this one is clinical, I get to interact with people
more than I expected."
What is so great about Philadelphia?
"It's convenient to get to center city. There's a lot to do. I love to explore
the small streets with my friends."
What advice would you give to incoming students?
"Definitely, if you want to be involved you have to go out and look for it. You
have to make more of an effort than you did in high school. Have fun!"
